Selena Green, LM, CPM

Selena is a LM, Licensed Midwife and a CPM, Certified Professional Midwife in the state of California with over twelve years prior experience as a labor assistant. Selena has attended births in hospital, birth center and home settings throughout her career in labor and birth. She served as a Clinical Director for six years for a local woman's clinic and is active in the women's community in the Bay Area. She is certified in infant and adult CPR and is consistently growing her knowledge based by training with other experts in birth-related fields. Selena balances her midwifery license with a license as a Level II Reiki practitioner.

" I am an African-American woman, partner, mother, and grandmother, who was born a midwife. I have always been passionate about birth. I strongly. believe it to be a sacred event that I am honored and humbled to be invited to participate in. It brings me much joy to witness a woman as she goes through her rite of passage and emerges stronger and more powerful in ways never imagined. I believe that a woman must receive information that will forever impact her life. In prenatal appointments, I spend time learning about my clients and their families. I journey with a woman into her history, at times to places that are kept secret, to know and understand who she is. This helps me to guide and provide safety for her when she is on her birth journey.

I love assisting a woman and her family to come to an understanding of what birth and parenting means to them. To open up dialogue to better communication that hopefully will extend and support them through parenting and beyond. Basically what I do is 'love up' my clients and families. I provide a safe, loving, supportive, and empowering environment for women to birth their children."
